Southwest Bio-Labs began Scoville Heat (Pungency) and ASTA Extractable Color testing of chile pepper products out of an industry need in Southern New Mexico for a local laboratory that could provide fast result turnaround. So in 1996, we began working with local processors to test their products and word soon spread around the industry which has caused our customer base to grow every year. As of 2018, we have tested over 60,000 pepper product samples!
